Every map has a warm spot.

Nearth is a pixel planet on NEAR, redrawn by its contract every epoch. Surveyors charted every coast, road and harbor on it.

Nobody charted the warm spots. That is where the cats moved in. They nap on the sunny parcels, answer beacons with a slow blink and treat every map as their own.
